Katheryn, LPCC^Crisis Clinician/Therapist
Katheryn (Kat) was born and raised in Aspen, Colorado, with the mountains being her first love and playground. She went on to attend Hastings College in Nebraska for her bachelor's degree and fell in love with psychology. She returned to complete her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University in Colorado. Kat has worked with various populations including high-risk youth in residential treatment, young children with and without autism, and adults in detox; and she’s experienced in case management and support groups. Her mission is to incorporate the wisdom of the communities and people with which she works to provide person-centered care. Kat enjoys spending time outside (preferably hiking or running), building and tending to her LEGO collection, reading books, watching movies, and caring for her many plants.

Kelly Cooper, LPC, LAC^Therapist
Kelly graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology. After graduation, she traveled the world studying human and animal behaviors. Kelly lived in New Zealand for a year, where she worked with the endangered Kiwi birds. She became interested in the intersections of human and animal survival behaviors. She traveled to Nepal and worked alongside Sherpas and yaks while learning about mental health in the Everest and Annapurna regions. She moved to Hawaii and worked at a Horticulture therapy program where she learned more about Wilderness Therapy and ceremony. While working with mustangs and wolves, she found a passion for animal-assisted therapy. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Wilderness Therapy from Naropa. Kelly has been a wilderness guide for the past 10 years where she incorporates her yoga teacher training from Kripalu, PSIA-Professional Ski Instructors of America, AASI-American Association of Snowboard Instructors, Rope’s Course Critical Skills, Wilderness First Responder, and Leadership development skills to help facilitate both external and internal growth. Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has specialized in crisis work since 2016.

Jonathan Shamis^Advisory Board Member
Jonathan Shamis was appointed as Lake County Judge in Colorado’s Fifth Judicial District in 2013. He previously was Executive Director of Alpine Legal Services. Since 2015, he has served on the Colorado Suicide Prevention Commission and currently serves on the Colorado Task Force on Attorney Well-Being. He is currently working on a national effort to develop standards of judicial competence in mental health for all trial judges.
Casey M., M.Ed.^Interim Crisis Operations Manager
Casey is a mental health professional who transitioned from central Pennsylvania to the scenic Roaring Fork Valley. Her academic journey began with an undergraduate degree in Business and Communications. Her initial engagement in event sales hinted at her knack for connecting with people and facilitating meaningful interactions which led her to pursue a graduate degree in Educational Leadership with a specialization in School Counseling. Upon completing her academic endeavors, Casey found her true calling within the mental health field where she found herself drawn to crisis intervention, recognizing the profound impact she could have in supporting individuals during their most challenging moments. This specialization became the cornerstone of her career as a mental health professional.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Casey is an avid enthusiast of outdoor activities. Whether it's hiking through picturesque trails, skiing down powdery slopes, or simply soaking in the natural beauty that surrounds her, Casey finds solace and joy in the great outdoors.
Laura, LPC^Crisis Clinician/Therapist
Laura moved to the Roaring Fork Valley from Austin, Texas with knowledge and experience in mental health crises. Laura attended Penn State University (We Are…!) for her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Texas A&M University for her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Laura is a retired military spouse with a deep understanding and respect of our armed services, veterans and their families. Laura is passionate about trauma-informed care and is mindful of the challenges those who have experienced trauma face.
Having served as a clinical advocate and therapist for high-risk adults and adolescents with pervasive mental health and substance use issues, Laura brings experience working in crisis management. She is skilled in the treatment of trauma, borderline, schizoaffective, Depression, Anxiety and Bipolar Disorder. She has experience in treatment planning, crisis and management, diagnostic evaluations, group therapy, individual therapy, case management and client advocacy. She is passionated about supporting individuals through crisis response and therapy.
Laura’s self-care regimen includes spending time with her family, hiking, road trips, exploring new places and adventures, listening to music and podcasts, cooking and storytelling.

Lauren, LPC^Crisis Clinician
Lauren was born and raised in New Jersey and ventured to New Orleans to complete her undergraduate studies at Tulane University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. She later pursued her graduate education at the University of Denver, and she received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health and specialization in Addictions.
As a grad student and clinical intern, Lauren provided outpatient therapy to adults, emergency mental health services to clients with diverse presentations, and intensive case management to individuals with severe persistent mental illness in assisted case care settings. She briefly returned to the East Coast to work in Manhattan and the Bronx supporting individuals experiencing mental illness and housing insecurity through transitional case management.
Drawn back to Colorado, Lauren returned to the Roaring Fork Valley. Since 2019, she has continued her dedication to supporting individuals through their most challenging moments in her role as a crisis clinician. She has extensive experience with suicidal ideation, high-risk behaviors, harm reduction, trauma, fatalities, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor who recognizes the individuality of each client and their experiences. She integrates evidence-based approaches—Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy—to align treatment with personal goals, needs, and values.

Lidia C., LSW^PRN Crisis Clinician
Lidia earned her Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver in 2025 and has called Colorado home since 2021. She feels especially connected to rural communities, particularly Colorado’s mountain towns, and is passionate about expanding mental health support in these areas. Lidia is drawn to fast-paced crisis work and values being able to show up for people in their most vulnerable moments. After graduating with an undergraduate degree in psychology and a minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin, she worked in settings focused on women's substance use, children's mental health, and severe mental illness with the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, as well as in youth residential treatment. Lidia spent the last 3.5 years working as a crisis clinician for Your Hope Center in Eagle County.
Originally from a small town in Wisconsin, Lidia enjoys staying active and connected to the outdoors. She can be found skiing as much as possible, gravel biking, hiking with her dog, and catching live music with friends.
Matthew “Matte” Curry, CPFS^Peer Support Specialist
Matthew “Matte” Curry is a Certified Colorado Peer and Family Specialist / Peer Recovery Coach who was raised in Colorado and is deeply passionate about supporting others on their recovery journeys. As someone who is in recovery himself, Matte brings both professional training and lived experience to the work he does every day.
Matte believes that recovery is possible for anyone who is willing to take the steps toward change. As a person in long-term recovery, he is a living testament that people can transform their lives, overcome challenges, and build a meaningful future.
Through peer coaching, group facilitation, and one-on-one support, Matte works alongside individuals to help them discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop the tools needed for sustainable recovery. He is passionate about creating safe spaces where people can share their stories, feel supported, and realize they are not alone in their journey.
Vanessa Lane, CPFS, FP^Peer Support Specialist
Vanessa Lane is a dedicated leader, Certified Colorado Peer and Family Specialist / Peer recovery coach who works on the front lines of recovery, walking alongside individuals in carceral settings and reminding them that change is possible. As a woman in long-term recovery herself, Vanessa brings lived experience, authenticity, and deep compassion to her work, helping others see that transformation is not only possible—it’s worth fighting for. With a heart for restoration and a strong belief in the worth of every person, she encourages individuals to rise beyond their past and step into a better future. Her work is rooted in connection, accountability, and hope, meeting people where they are while challenging them to grow. Vanessa’s leadership is fueled by faith, service, and a commitment to building bridges between people and possibilities. Whether she’s mentoring, training, or engaging in public outreach, she brings both strength and empathy to every space she enters. Outside of her work, she refuels through prayer, music, working out, being outdoors, and spending meaningful time with her children and grandchildren.
Lindsay Selig, LPC^Therapist
Lindsay is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults in both school and clinical settings. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. Her background as an elementary and middle school counselor shaped a strong commitment to prevention, early intervention, and helping individuals build practical coping and life skills. Lindsay uses a person-centered, strengths-based approach and incorporates skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing to support emotional regulation, resilience, and overall well being.
Lindsay moved to Carbondale in 2014 with her husband and two sons and values the sense of connection and community in the Roaring Fork Valley. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing yoga, hiking, camping, skiing, creating art, working on puzzles, and reading. She is passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where clients of all ages feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate challenges and foster meaningful growth.

Rachel Matheson, LCSW^School Services Training & Operations Manager/Beacon of Hope IOP Mental Health Provider
Rachel grew up in Glenwood Springs and is very happy to be back living in the Roaring Fork Valley. She earned an Associates of Arts degree from Colorado Mountain College, a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Fort Lewis College and a Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University, and recently earned her LCSW certificate. Rachel uses techniques including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy and somatic therapy; and she focuses on the strengths and unique experience of each person with whom she works. As a school-based clinician, Rachel will support the mental wellness of students and the school community to the best of her ability. She believes in the power of listening, resilience, mindset, curiosity and the impact that experiences and environments can have on people.
Rachel loves hiking with her dogs, spending time on the river, snowboarding, hanging out with her family and rock climbing.
Rachel Z., LCSW^Crisis Clinician
Rachel is a licensed clinical social worker who grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. She moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in the summer of 2025, taking a leap towards a life surrounded by outdoor beauty and activities. With a background in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and community mental health, Rachel is passionate about helping people access timely, compassionate support when they need it most.
Her approach is grounded in the belief that “we’re all human and need each other.” She hopes to meet every person with warmth, clarity, and respect—especially during moments of uncertainty or overwhelm. Both in her private practice and in joining the Aspen Hope Center, Rachel hopes to help people feel seen, supported, and connected to mental health services that can foster safety and healing.
Outside of work, you can find her exploring local trails with her husband of 13 years and two large pups, enjoying quiet moments by the water, playing board games, reading or discovering new places to eat and have fun in the area.
Rae Ann, LPC, LAC^Crisis Clinician
Rae Ann was born and raised in Illinois and relocated to Garfield County, Colorado in 1990. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology Counseling and went on to get her Master's degree from Adam's State College in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Over the last 20 years, Rae Ann has worked in a variety of mental health settings throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. She is passionate about mental health and crisis work in particular. When Rae Ann isn't working, she enjoys camping and traveling.
Lady Fuller^Board President
Lady Fuller is a serial entrepreneur, and currently CEO of IGC (International Gifting Co.). Lady has been in the retail space for 15 years, and is the former owner of the national chain of The Blues Jean Bar stores.
Lady served most recently as President of YPO Aspen from 2016-2018. She has appeared on CNBC’s The Profit, she is a recipient of ICSC’s coveted “Hot Retailer” of the year award, has contributed to Sheryl Sandberg’s “Lean In” blog and is currently writing a memoir and producing a documentary on Suicide.
Lady has an MBA from University of San Francisco and has a passion for entrepreneurs, traveling to remote places in the world, and the environment. Lady lives in Woody Creek with her family.
Brandon Jones, LCSW^Basalt Middle School Clinician
Brandon holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver and serves as a school-based clinician at Basalt Middle School. He's called the Roaring Fork Valley home for seven years. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, he moved to Longmont, Colorado at the age of nine. Prior to joining the Hope Center, Brandon spent a decade working in environmental education, youth leadership, and conservation. In addition to his MSW, he holds degrees in Outdoor Education from Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs and Sociology and Community Leadership at the University of Colorado. He has dedicated his career to supporting youth and adults as they connect to the natural world, to their communities, and to themselves.
Transitioning to the field of social work has allowed Brandon to have deeper relationships with students and their families. He finds great importance in working with clients to address many of the same issues that were revealed over his years as an educator. At Basalt Middle School, Brandon will offer bilingual (English/Spanish) individual and group therapy for students, as well as education on various mental health topics. Brandon will encourage students to grow confidently into their unique identities with grace and self-compassion.
While not at school, Brandon can be found listening to community radio, foraging for wild foods and crafting (occasionally delicious) meals, and having as much fun as possible with friends and family.
Caitlin Evans, R-DMT, LPC^Carbondale Community School Clinician
Caitlin is originally from northern Utah but fell in love with western Colorado the moment she first arrived in the mountains. She found her way home to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2021 where she quickly became involved in the community as a dancer and as an intern at a therapeutic ranch in Carbondale. Caitlin earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University. She believes our bodies and movements have a lot to tell us and she’s looking forward to helping folks fortify the relationships between their mind, body, feelings, art, and spirit. Caitlin will work with her students to uncover the knowledge, wisdom and stories their minds and bodies have to share about their past, present and future.
Cate Meeder, LCSW^Glenwood Springs High School Clinician
Cate grew up in northern Wisconsin and attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with concentrations in Education and Race and Ethnic Studies. During college, she spent summers working with Summer Advantage in the Roaring Fork Valley and fell in love with the community. After college, she worked with middle school ELL students through AmeriCorps, with adolescents doing adventure therapy, and with young adults in residential substance use treatment programs.
Cate returned to the valley and completed her Master’s in Social Work through the University of Denver’s Western Colorado program. She feels passionate about building relationships, empowering youth and families, and supporting holistic wellness for all. In her work with students, she utilizes DBT, CBT, ACT, CAMS, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Solutions-Focused Therapy. When she's not at work, she enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and recreating outside with her dog, Percy.
Clarissa Fortier, LSW^Glenwood Springs Middle School Clinician
Clarissa holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. Originally from New York City, she grew up amidst the bustle of the city, but always felt drawn toward a quieter, smaller community. She has called Colorado home for the last twelve years, with the past seven spent in the Roaring Fork Valley. Clarissa earned her undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and Studio Art from Oberlin College, after which she spent several years guiding outdoor education programs, working as a nanny, and honing her craft as a landscape painter.
Her transition to social work evolved naturally as she reflected on the insights gained through her work as an educator, caregiver, and artist navigating an ever-changing world. With extensive experience working with youth of all ages, Clarissa is passionate about providing a safe, nurturing, and nonjudgmental space where students can explore their thoughts and emotions, build confidence, and discover what it means to sit with uncomfortable feelings. Clarissa believes in people's innate ability to heal; she feels honored to walk alongside her students as they seek clarity, practical solutions, or simply a safe space to be heard and witnessed.
Giacomina (Mina) Fabiano, LSW^Aspen High School Clinician
Mina is a Licensed Social Worker and has worked in a school setting for the last 3 years. She attended the Western Colorado’s class of 2025 Graduate School of Social Work program at University of Denver. Furthermore, she has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from the University of Notre Dame. Mina is dedicated to improving the lives of adolescents through suicide and depression prevention strategies and has experience treating neurodivergent teens with co-occurring mental health disorders and suicidality. Her methodology is strengths-based and client-centered with professional training in ACT, CAMS, and Motivational Interviewing. She is passionate to see her students grow through resilience and empowerment. Outside of work, Mina enjoys skiing, hiking, camping and playing tennis and softball.
Gianna Furrie, LPCC^Carbondale Community School Clinician
Gianna comes from Chicago and found her way to Colorado in 2017, where she completed her bachelor's degree in psychology at Colorado State University with a concentration in addictions counseling. She graduated in May 2026 with her master's in clinical mental health counseling from Adams State University. She found an interest in counseling after firsthand experience with family members struggling with addiction, and became passionate about understanding the human brain and experience, reducing stigma around mental health, and increasing access to resources. Through her own personal experiences, she has become very passionate about eating disorders and the treatment for them.
She has experience working with clients across the spectrum of gender, age, and mental health needs, and is so excited for the opportunity to work with children in the school setting. Gianna finds great importance in prevention and early education and thinks this will lend itself nicely for work as a school-based clinician Outside of work, Gianna finds peace in nature and all things outdoors, whether it's skiing, golfing, rafting, or just walking her dog. She recharges by spending time with family and by engaging in creative hobbies, including painting and crocheting.
