Sue de Campo, MSW
School-Based Clinician, Aspen Middle School
Sue grew up outside Boston. She earned her Bachelor's degree in English at Boston University before going on to get her M.Ed. with certification to teach high school English. However, when she joined her soon-to-be husband in Aspen, there were no openings for high school English teachers! Pivoting quickly, Sue launched into a successful twelve-year period in mortgage banking. As practical as banking was, Sue wanted to lean into her compassion more deeply and help people in a more direct, personal way. She studied psychology voraciously while raising her son here in Aspen. Serving as the Care Coordinator at Snowmass Chapel for nine years, she started and has continued (also for nine years) a support group for Moms of young people who have been or are in in-patient mental health treatment. When Sue's son graduated high school and left home, Sue followed her passion to earn a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Naropa University in Boulder. Her internship was at Jaywalker Lodge in Carbondale, a residential treatment center for addiction. During her free time, Sue enjoys choral singing, hiking, traveling and spending time with her husband, son and dog Teddy.
